Alwyn Dawkins is Executive Vice President, Gartner Conferences, the world's leading IT conference provider. He is responsible for ensuring profitable growth of the events business by delivering a client-focused experience to the 44,000 business and technology professionals who attend the company's 62 conferences and symposia held around the world each year.
Previously at Gartner, Mr. Dawkins was group vice president, Asia/Pacific Sales, based in Sydney, Australia. In this role, he led the company's research and advisory services business across the Asia/Pacific region, which became the highest-performing region in sales revenue in the company. Prior to this role, Mr. Dawkins was group vice president, Gartner Events, where he held global responsibility for exhibit and sponsorship sales across the extensive portfolio of Gartner events. During this time, annual revenue from sponsorship and exhibit sales increased 100%.
Mr. Dawkins joined Gartner in 2002 after 10 years at Richmond Events, culminating in his role as executive vice president responsible for its North American business. He began his events career at Trinity Publishing and Exhibitions, which was later acquired by Daily Mail Group (DMG) World Media.
Mr. Dawkins holds a bachelor's degree in applied economics from the University of London.
