Andrew Chetham is a Silicon Valley based VP Analyst in the Research and Advisory Technology and Service Provider(TSP) team, specifically in the practice area of advising Business and Product Leadership roles within those companies. His main focus is advice for vendors in the Human Capital Management (HCM) software market - specifically growth opportunities, competition, differentation and the emphasis on making products more consumer app like in their interfaces and capabilities for users, admin and HR and line of business users. As well as the overall HCM market, he focuses more specifically on Corporate Learning Software area, which has grown rapidly both in its importance to enterprises as a strategic investment and the numbers of new vendors entering the market on the back of cloud based software as a service. His focus include vendors offering Learning Management System (LMS), Learning Experience Platforms (LXP), Micro learning, and other players in the learning ecosystem -- either as standalone products or part of HCM or talent management suites.
Prior to his current role, Mr Chetham was a Research Team Team Manager in Gartner R&A for 13 years supervising several different worldwide teams of analysts in that time. Most recently as a team manager in the TSP Product Manager Practice. Prior to that as a Manager in the TSP Personal Tech/Consumer Tech area, and before that managing analysts in the Telecoms research area. Before moving to research management he was a Research VP in the telecoms area. Formerly based in Hong Kong with Gartner for many years, he relocated to the US in 2013.
Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Chetham had been advising on marketing and PR strategies and writing and commenting on business and IT markets in Asia after moving from the uk to Hong Kong in 1996.
Prior to that, he was a reporter, producer and presenter with BBC News and Current Affairs in the United Kingdom.
