Andrew Knight's focus on topics for Healthcare Supply Chain includes Physician Preference Item (PPI) sourcing, contracting and category management, including negotiation, spend analytics, talent and organization, as well as value analysis.
At Sharp HealthCare as the System Director of Supply Chain Services, Mr. Knight led Sharp's supply chain corporate offices including Strategic Sourcing and Contracts, Procurement Operations and Value Analysis. During his time at Sharp, he successfully implemented a departmental restructure to introduce category management and improve the contributions of the department to be more in line with the corporate objectives.
He acquired the majority of his healthcare background from 7.5 years at Kaiser Permanente where he served in leadership as the Senior Director of Medical Sourcing where he had responsibility for all $1.5 Billion of KP's med./surg. spend. He spent four years as the Orthopedics Sourcing Director, managing a $200 million category.
Nearly half of his over 20-year career as a supply chain practitioner came from outside of the healthcare industry. In the food and beverage industry, as the Global Head of Procurement at Glanbia Nutritionals, he led the procurement teams in North America, China and Germany. In the Automotive Manufacturing industry, he was a Category Manager at Honda of America Manufacturing. Earlier in his career, he worked in the aerospace and defense industry at SAIC as a Sr. Buyer.
