Audrey Apfel leads the Program and Portfolio Management team, one of three teams serving Enterprise Architecture and Technical Innovation (EA + TI) and PPM leaders under Gartner's IT Leaders research group.
Ms. Apfel has extensive experience in technical, PMO, product development and business management positions. She is the author of Gartner's "Total Value of Opportunity" (TVO) methodology and was a co-author of the original Gartner Business Value Model. Her familiarity with a broad range of technology and business issues has led her to be the keynote speaker at many Gartner and outside events, and to her contribution to many books on PPM and other subjects.

Ms. Apfel has more than 25 years of experience in enterprise business, IT, user and provider environments. Prior to joining Gartner, she worked at IBM for 11 years and held several positions, crossing the corporation from Development to Quality Assurance to Systems Engineering and Services, to business staff positions. She started her career at Bell Laboratories as a Member of Technical Staff (MTS), developing and supporting network architectures.
