Elise Olding is a Vice President, Analyst covering the complex challenges of organizational change and business transformation from a people perspective. Ms. Olding's areas of focus include organizational change, cultural change, culture hacking, change leadership, growth mindset and motivation. She also covers trending topics, such as change fatigue, burnout and culture for the future of work. She provides research on a worldwide basis, advising clients on best practices to achieve sustainable change and cultural change. She is currently a member of Gartner's Program and Portfolio Management team and has also worked in the CIO research group.
Ms. Olding brings more than 35 years of experience working in the areas of business transformation, process and organizational change. Her experience includes roles in many industries, such as apparel, manufacturing, retail, financial services, regional government and high tech. Her business transformation efforts have included a focus on organizational change and communications to achieve successful adoption. Ms. Olding knows the importance of practical advice and approaches that can be tailored to work within the unique environments of various companies. She developed those skills through her many years of hands-on experience. With her extensive executive interface and strategic planning experience, she can provide the insights and tactics to ensure that clients' goals are achieved.
Prior to joining Gartner, Ms. Olding held leadership roles at some of the top companies in the U.S. Most recently, she worked at Safeway as the Director of IT Strategic Planning, and prior to that she was the leader of the Transformation Services organization. At Charles Schwab, she was the VP of Finance Strategic Consulting. At Hurwitz Group, she was a VP of Research for the Knowledge, eLearning and Collaboration Services area. Furthermore, she spent 12 years at Levi Strauss, where she held a number of positions, including IT Auditor, Systems Analyst and IT Testing Manager, as well as Strategic Consultant, in which she was responsible for two business process reengineering teams. She also has five years of experience in banking as an IT and Operations Auditor, gaining a wealth of experience documenting and standardizing processes.
