Ian Marriott manages the Enterprise IT Leaders (EITL) Infrastructure and Operations, Sourcing, Procurement and Vendor Management, and Strategic Portfolio Management teams. Before this he was a Leadership Partner specializing in Sourcing and Vendor Management. He brings over 40 years of industry experience to his current role including 15 years as a Gartner Research Vice President.
As a Gartner analyst, Mr. Marriott focused on outsourcing and IT services, with a particular emphasis on strategic sourcing and global delivery. He led the Gartner offshore research community, which focused on global sourcing and delivery models, emerging supply markets and best practices. He was also the chair of the Gartner Sourcing and Strategic Vendor Relationships Summit, a frequent speaker and presenter at numerous Gartner and external forums and events around the world, and was extensively quoted in the national and international press.
Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Marriott worked for IBM Global Services EMEA, where he gained considerable experience in contract negotiation and service delivery, and worked on large-scale outsourcing and system integration projects in various parts of the world.
