John MacDorman is a Research Director in Gartner's CIO Research group. His areas of coverage include IT strategy, organization design, bimodal IT and governance. He has spent the past 25 years leading and supporting strategic transformation initiatives as a consultant and management executive. His current passion is digital transformation, which is challenging many businesses across all industries.
Prior to joining Gartner Research, Mr. MacDorman led IT strategy and other key initiatives for 11 years as a management consultant with Gartner and Ernst & Young's IT Transformation practice. His engagements spanned a wide variety of industries as he helped his clients define and implement solutions to their most pressing business problems. Prior to moving into management consulting, Mr. MacDorman led transformation initiatives as a management executive at Warner Music, NCR and AT&T.
