Previously at Gartner, Mr. Potter focused on research related to IT services and outsourcing, with an emphasis on data center, desktop, help desk and offshore delivery of infrastructure services. Additional responsibilities included lead analyst and project manager for Gartner on Outsourcing, an annual report and flagship research on the state of IT and business process outsourcing; leader of the worldwide IT Outsourcing Research Community, an internal think tank that analyzes innovation in outsourcing and IT services; and role service director for the IT Outsourcing Worldwide Market Insight product. Prior to this, Mr. Potter was a senior program director in the Best Practices program, where he managed peer exchange councils for IT Sourcing Management, Emerging Technology Management, IT Asset Management, IT Security Management and Help Desk Management.
Mr. Potter started his career at Gartner as an analyst in the business management of IT research team, where he was the vision leader for the IT spending and chargeback strategies area for the management strategies and directions service.
