Patrick Borka is a Senior Director with Gartner for Technical Professionals research team. Mr. Borka provides in-depth research and analysis of meeting solutions, phone systems, and workstream collaboration with a focus on the communications aspects such as voice, video, and devices. The topics he currently covers include communications infrastructure interoperability, PBX and cloud-based telephony, conferencing platforms, UC platforms and workstream collaboration.
Mr. Borka's focus is around Cisco and Microsoft and Zoom unified communications applications and services. Throughout his career he has completed many projects around unified communications and integration in various capacities. He has previously served in a broad variety of roles, ranging from design and project management, to project delivery and professional consulting services.
Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Borka was focused on Microsoft unified communications. His roles included architecture and design, implementation, project management and technical presales. Some more notable points across his career have included being on the Microsoft Surface Hub launch team, Cisco and Polycom video interop, PSTN and PBX interop typically via Sonus (Ribbon) and AudioCodes gateways.
