Sam Evans works in Research Infrastructure Protection covering secure web gateways (SWG), enterprise firewalls, network segmentation and intrusion detection/prevention (IDPS) technologies.
Prior to this, Mr. Evans managed teams which were responsible for all aspects of Data Center Operations, including Networking (WAN and LAN), Network Security, Compute (Physical, Virtual and Cloud), Storage and Database Platforms. He has in-depth experience with many hardware platforms and vendors used within the data center environment.
Prior to becoming the Data Center Operations Director, he was also a Senior Security Architect where he designed many of the security platforms that protect the manufacturing and corporate environments. His focus was on platforms ranging from Intrusion Prevention (IPS), Endpoint Security Solutions, Secure Web Gateways, as well as deep packet inspection technologies. He also has extensive knowledge of the Payment Card Industry (PCI) and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) regulations.
