William McNeill is a senior research director in Gartner's supply chain group. He currently researches sourcing and procurement applications for supply chain with a focus on supply base management: supplier information, supplier risk and supplier collaboration. His primary responsibility is in helping end-user clients research, select and procure software applications in the aforementioned areas. Mr. McNeill also has a strong working knowledge of such core technologies and concepts as software-as-a-service, blockchain, and machine learning. Mr. McNeill has previously researched global trade management, field service and EDI software and services. Mr. McNeill won a Gartner research writing award and has more than 20 years of experience in technology.
Before joining AMR Research, Mr. McNeill was a Senior Technical Writer at Salesnet. Prior to Salesnet, he was a Technical Writer and Editor at Forrester Research.
Mr. McNeill is also a published author and was an Editor for four years at Adams Media Corp., a business book publisher.
