While Dunkin’s latest product release sent fans running to their nearest grocery stores, it’s now giving loyal customers a reason to rush to its restaurants.
For every Monday in August, Dunkin’ loyalty members can get free coffee through the brand’s app. Customers have to be a DD Perks Member when they order and can checkout on the app or by using their loyalty ID in store. The deal is redeemable for any medium iced or hot coffee beverage with the purchase of a food item, but can only be claimed on Monday’s. The deal is a sister-promotion to Dunkin’s Free Donut Fridays, which the brand recently brought back for the first time since May. For both Free Coffee Monday and Free Donut Friday customers have to be part of Dunkin’s loyalty program, which could help encourage more to join.
Both perks are being advertised within the Dunkin’ app, but for those who are not already on the app, the brand is posting additional promotions across its social channels. For example, the restaurant is promoting its latest buzzy news on Instagram and Twitter, with reminders to be posted each Monday. Dunkin’s social accounts are also linking to its app in the posts, which could encourage viewers to join the Perks program while the promotion is still top of mind. By running a mobile promotion, Dunkin’ could re-engage customers looking for an excuse to visit its stores and spread the word that its locations are open during the ongoing pandemic. As many customers remain wary of visiting restaurants, making the promotion accessible via mobile app allows fans to get their Dunkin’ fix fast and could incentivize repeat visits, according to a Gartner report on the topic.
Dunkin’s Free Coffee Mondays could make the start of the week a little easier and a little cheaper for customers. By running its newest in-app promotion, the restaurant brand could connect with customers from wherever they are and boost loyalty by giving them a reason to pay the brand a visit at least once a week.
