Mike Walker

Mike J. Walker is a Research Director responsible for conducting research in the Enterprise Architecture and Technology Innovation areas. Mr. Walker is specifically focused on how organizations can use business-outcome-driven EA to respond to disruptive trends, such as digital business, emerging technologies and smart machines. Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Walker was a seasoned Chief Architect both working as an advisor with the top global 100 companies on business transformation, strategy and enterprise architecture, along with also leading and establishing internal enterprise architecture programs within major organizations. As an enterprise architecture thought leader, Mr. Walker published numerous books, publications, authoritative architecture guidance, white papers, publication of international standards and standardized frameworks. Mr. Walker is an accomplished senior IT leader and has held a variety of positions in leadership, enterprise architecture and deep technology subject matter expert roles. He has spent his career across many discipline areas, such as strategy, enterprise architecture, project management and application development, combined with varying industry verticals, such as financial services, healthcare and high technology. His works can be found through book publications, trade publications, authoritative architecture guidance, white papers, publication of international standards and standardized frameworks.
