Gregory Murray

Within the Gartner for Technical Professionals (GTP), Gregory Murray is one of the agenda managers for Gartner’s Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) team. Mr. Murray helps steer and refine research to help make data center operations lean and modern. Mr. Murray’s areas of research are automation and data-driven operations. Murray was a Product Manager for VMware vCenter Server Appliance and Photon OS.

Mark Beyer

Mark A. Beyer is a Research Vice President and Distinguished Analyst in the ITL Data and Analytics group. Mr. Beyer covers enterprise data integration and data management solutions for analytics. In addition, he covers the organizational structure for supporting both the architectural development and the ongoing coordination of the information infrastructure with use cases (such as enterprise data integration, supporting data science efforts, business intelligence and advanced analytics). With a combined direct experience as a power-user, application developer and data architect, he focuses on practical choices when possible and pragmatic delivery when choices are limited. More aggressive research includes Gartnerâ s Maverick contributions and data integration disruptions while keeping healthy skepticism involved where needed. Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Beyer led implementation practices and projects for data integration, business intelligence and data management architectures as a direct hire within organizations, an implementation consultant and vendor implementation/project lead. He has experience in leading and participating in teams as small as three-person units to serving as the solution architect and project manager of a 12-month, multiphased effort that included 24 professional services consultants and nine internal (client) staff members for a data integration architecture, data warehouse (hub), ODS and spoke-marts. He was a business analyst and power user of data prior to engaging in a more formal IT career. His work included designing and developing surveys, managing survey efforts, conducting labor/resource studies, evaluating service delivery models, sales and inventory analysis. His industry experience includes USDOE, USDoD, electric utility industry, automotive industry, P&C insurance, professional insurance, healthcare providers, health insurance, consumer packaged goods, grocery, wholesale, logistics and distribution.

Valerie Logan

Valerie A. Logan is a Research Director in the Data and Analytics group within Gartner Research, where she covers information management strategies, advanced analytics and related change management topics. She is a member of the Office of the CDO (Chief Data Officer) research team. Ms. Logan has more than 25 years of experience, including two decades of global consulting practice management in the information and intelligence domains, and five years of applied experience in the telecommunications industry at both field and enterprise levels. Ms. Logan is an active and passionate thought leader in the areas of information sciences and business intelligence strategies, supporting clients with their information and analytics evolution. She is a natural systems thinker – able to understand and distill complex concepts and systems for general understanding. Ms. Logan is recognized as a pioneer in innovative consulting practices – recognized by Consulting Magazine in 2008 as one of eight top women in global consulting. She is known as an inspiring motivator, genuine advisor and change agent – driven by a passion to synthesize information to solve real-world problems.
