Board of directors have increased their risk appetite as enterprises prepare for a postpandemic renewal. This is because making investments and strategic decisions in an environment of heightened uncertainty requires an increased level of risk-taking. According to the 2022 Gartner View From the Board of Directors Survey, 60% of boards of directors increased or expect to increase their risk appetite. Interestingly, for the first time, boards view an economically and politically volatile society as the biggest risk they have to deal with.
