Persistent high inflation will be with most of the globe throughout 2023. Central banks are responding to inflation by raising prime interest rates, in some cases above the country's long term average, making the possibility of recession in those countries very real. Despite these headwinds, overall IT spending is increasing in every country and vertical industry in 2023. Unfortunately, this statement cannot be extended to every IT market Gartner tracks – there are winners and losers among the technology and services markets.
