Gartner Announces Keynote Speakers for Inaugural Supply Chain Executive Conference in Australia

Top Supply Chain Executives from Coca-Cola Amatil and Lenovo to Address Industry Leaders in Sydney, 23-24 July 2012

Global research and advisory firm Gartner has announced two guest keynote speakers for its first Supply Chain Executive Conference to be held in Australia later this month, drawing on the success of its annual event in North America and Europe.

Bruce Herbert, Director, Supply Chain at Coca-Cola Amatil has worked in the Coca-Cola business since 1982 in Queensland, The Philippines and Indonesia, and is now based in Sydney as the company’s Supply Chain Director in Australia.

Scott Gardner, Vice President, Asia-Pacific/Latin America Global Supply Chain at Lenovo is responsible for the company’s Asia-Pacific and Latin America supply chain operations. He began his career in 1985 working in manufacturing within IBM’s mainframe computer business before joining Lenovo as part of the company's acquisition of IBM's PC Division. Mr. Gardner has held management roles in virtually every operational aspect of the supply chain, including inventory, procurement, finance, and fulfillment.

Head of Gartner’s supply chain research group, group vice president Jane Barrett, will present the opening keynote looking at the strategies and actions successful supply chain leaders have taken, and will continue to take, to survive or thrive in an age of uncertainty, creating world-class supply chains that contain costs, drive efficiency, mitigate risk and inspire through innovation.

Held over two days at the Sydney Convention Centre on 23-24 July, senior supply chain leaders, Gartner analysts and solution providers will gather to explore the challenges and opportunities facing supply chain professionals, proven supply chain management disciplines and the latest supply chain technologies. During the event, Gartner will announce its ‘Asia Pacific Supply Chain Top 15’, an annual ranking of supply chain organizations from companies headquartered within Asia Pacific, based on various operational and financial metrics, Gartner analyst voting and peer voting by supply chain executives.

Gartner Supply Chain Executive Conference 2012 is the only industry event designed to provide senior supply chain executives with the insights, tools and relationships they need, from a proven source of field-tested research, analysis and unbiased advice.
