Hey everyone, I'm new the to platform and excited to see what all the buzz is about!  I'm a first time CTO and cofounder as of about a year ago. I manage 3 developers and have a cofounding CEO.  Any general advice you'd like to share for a first time CTO?  Thanks!

Congratulations Dan on your exciting role, My two cents other than generic advice would be keep yourself aligned with business and continue to build solid aligned team which shares the same passion.

CTO in Software, 11 - 50 employees
The core tenets of your role are defining and maintaining the culture, providing technical direction and architectural guidance, and having a complete understanding of how the product/service meets customer needs, both current and in the future.

Chief Information Officer in Manufacturing, 10,001+ employees
Provide strategic direction, build trust with your team, ensure your connected at the hip with the CEO, and make sure to foster collaboration across the teams. You're their leader but you want to empower the team and allow them to make calculated mistakes.

CTO in Telecommunication, 11 - 50 employees
Try to keep a healthy balance of delegation, objectivity and a willingness to roll up your sleaves and join in,with the hardest part being able to objectively understand sales requirements and balance them with development timescales.

CTO in Travel and Hospitality, 11 - 50 employees
Congratulations!!! Dan. Give your all effort to develop world class product, don't distract to different use cases which is not fit to your/company vision. Create friendly and trust worthy environment for your team and empower them. Last advice is don't leave coding.
