Senior Director CIO Office in Software, 1,001 - 5,000 employees
I look back after having done the job seven times. Sometimes I land in jobs and I've looked around and thought this is going to be the proverbial ‘duck soup’. Because of the experience that I have, I can see in my own humble estimation what they need here. It's pretty clear where the problems are, what we need to do now, all that insight and intuition has to get applied to the business model, the unique features of that particular company, where it operates geographically, and what its customer base is like, etc. But there's a lot of things in it that are immutable. Everybody has to have a financial system and everybody has to have some kind of a CRM capability.I increase both sales and users by getting my clients news coverage. As a result, WotNow app received $250,000 in seed funding. in Software, Self-employed

I think in the beginning it is important to have good mentors. Those that you can watch to see how things are done well. It provides a solid foundation for future growth and personal achievement. Not to say that people can’t do it on their own, but having someone to learn from makes a difference in my eyes. That being said, it is important for a CIO to stay current on industry developments so future decisions can be made that will positively impact the organization. Content you might like
