Do you see any internal applications for the metaverse? Would you consider creating virtual spaces for your org?
Director of IT in Manufacturing, 10,001+ employees
Internal applications for training and gamification. Can see a pilot for it CIO in Construction, 1,001 - 5,000 employees
Yes, we use VR tech for the virtual tour. And will explore Metaverse for furture customer visits and interactions.CTO in Services (non-Government), 51 - 200 employees
I have an oculus quest 2 at home, and we have one at the office for fun. Neither get much use and no one likes using them for any extended length of time. We also work with meta and have seen even their own employee's reluctance to use the technology for remote meetings. Unless there is an unlikely leap in technology making it far more comfortable to use I see no internal applications for the metaverse. However, for Augmented Reality I can see near term uses for training both remote and local, in addition to remote assistance and support.
Chief Information Technology Officer in IT Services, 201 - 500 employees
hi we use already Meta Horizon Workrooms for admin meeting but i can see a lot of use like intreactive visitsChief Information Officer in Education, 5,001 - 10,000 employees
Collaboration and education.Unlikely on creating virtual spaces at this time. Too many people to try and convince to use a metaverse for unknown return.
CIO in Software, 11 - 50 employees
Training and collaboration will be big use casesSenior Director Enterprise Applications in Software, 1,001 - 5,000 employees
Absolutely. Virtual tour of your product experience, retail store visit without actually visiting, real estate site inspection. What if you could have a miner could train for a job by inspecting a tunnel before they had to enter the dangerous job site so they were trained and knew the dimensions and exit points etc. I think the potential is limitless. What if an assembler could ask the app where the component needed to be installed and it showed them exactly how to do it just like asking a experienced co worker?CIO in Healthcare and Biotech, 51 - 200 employees
The metaverse is grossly over rated there is no current plan or intentions for most business to engage in this platform.Director of IT in Software, 201 - 500 employees
From my point of view internal training, product innovations, remote worker collaboration, applications for marketing promotion activities. VP of IT in Real Estate, 201 - 500 employees
I could see our org use this for training and virtual tours for customers.Content you might like

Without a doubt - Technical Debt! It's a ball and chain that creates an ever increasing drag on any organization, stifles innovation, and prevents transformation.Text64%
