A ego is many times necessary for success in any leadership position. You need to have confidence in yourself as well as your abilities but don’t think your the smartest in the room. Harness your ego and manage it with intent but you also have to know when to check your ego in at the door.

Ego can go either way. Too much ego will normally get in the way of effective business partnerships. Too little ego normally reflects as a lack of confidence or that you're too easily swayed and can't take a stance. Managed properly, ego can be an advantage.
