How should I approach hiring backend engineers for the complex environments that startups face on a daily basis? From my perspective, it seems like engineers will spend a couple of months at one company, but then exit for a few hundred dollars more than they're making, rather than thinking thoroughly of all the perks & stock options they have with us. Any pointers will add to daily efforts to retain our engineers! 

Provide them with share options so they will have personal stake on the success of the startup. Make it as a 3 year plan where they can access percentage of the total shares every year and full access/ownership after being 3 years at the company
