What are your thoughts on this article and the state of IT research in general? https://www.brightworkresearch.com/saphana/2019/06/30/idc-takes-money-to-publish-sap-provided-sample-on-s-4hana/

I’ve worked for an organization that had numerous JD Power & Associates awards, which they had paid to have conducted.  Those awards seemed to have criteria that was tightly tailored to the organization so not winning would have been a surprise.   The performance of the organization was very good regardless, but the ability to define much of the criteria smelled off.  I tend to trust the experience of employees who have used certain tools and even crowdsourcing in forums where the incentive is to help an IT brother/sister and not directly profit.
