Which of these certifications is important to you when hiring a software tester? Choose all that apply.

Top Answer: When I was at E&Y, when the partner was asked if we had CISSP certification, he replied “no, but focus on their experience”.  After we all got certified, he started replying: “yes, but focus on their experience”.    The IT industry love certs. But what counts is experience.

What equipment-related challenges have you faced with hybrid meetings?

Top Answer: We were running Skype for Business prior to the pandemic, so when we transitioned to Teams, we held off refreshing all the video capability in the rooms because the Skype setup was incredible. But then the supply chain challenges hit. Most of our rooms across eight campuses still don't have good video. It's going to be a bit weird having meetings with people attending both in person and remote — everyone will be in the same meeting but they'll be looking at their laptops so they can be on camera.

If you had a magic wand - what's the #1 daily business challenge you'd eliminate?

Top Answer: Without a doubt - Technical Debt! It's a ball and chain that creates an ever increasing drag on any organization, stifles innovation, and prevents transformation.

Do you provide end-user training for programs such as Word/Docs or Excel/Sheets, or do you just assume folks know these days?

Top Answer: No specific trainings for Word/Excel. We do have user trainings for one drive, Sharepoint, ms teams, ms planner etc.

What's your experience with virtual whiteboard tools for remote or hybrid collaboration? Any recommendations?

Top Answer: I have used Zoom for white boarding - This is still being adopted by whole teams. This facility is relatively new and people are not used to it. We are thinking of this being taken up by leadership team first for adoption. People will copy once they see the impact.

Workflow automationWorkflow automation

Are tech leaders adopting workflow automation?

Do you have any good or bad experience with the Metallic solution for O365 backup? We are looking at this solution to backup 1500+ O365 accounts and sharepoints.

Top Answer: I am considering Metallic at the moment. Have been using Veeam for Office 365 for couple of years. Metallic looks like more mature product and is full SaaS. Being a Commvault product I am not surprised. So far I am happy with the capabilities. The only think I don’t like is that its not budget friendly solution. I love to hear as well from someone that is using it in production.

What's the difference between good and bad shadow IT?

Top Answer: There are two types of shadow IT organizations. There are the ones that result from a poorly run and ineffective IT organization, so it becomes the prime of IT. And then there are some shadow IT organizations that are a source of innovation, and are supported by the actual IT organization. The latter is good, the former is bad. You have to understand the differences and what leads to it. If not, you won’t be able to solve for the problem. A blocker IT organization is like a stone in a river: the water will just go right around it. You have to figure out how to be more of an enabler.
