Frequently Asked Questions
About Readership Analytics
What is Readership Analytics?
Organizations that commit to the Customer First Program and implement the sourcing strategies will be able to “unlock” Readership Analytics data after soliciting 25 published reviews in a market. Readership Analytics provides you with insights into how your customers and prospects are consuming your reviews on Gartner Peer Insights. Access to Readership Analytics is available exclusively to technology providers through the Customer First Program.
Where do I find the Readership Analytics data?
Access Readership Analytics via the Tools tab in your Technology Provider Tools portal.
Eligibility and Access
How can I unlock and access Readership analytics for any market?
Readership Analytics data is automatically unlocked when you meet the following required criteria:
- You’ve joined the Customer First Program and have implemented the required Widget and programmatic sourcing strategy. Read more about Customer First Program.
- You’ve reached at least 25 published reviews in the past four quarters (including the current quarter) sourced from your identifiable sourcing efforts
Once this criteria is met, access is unlocked through the end of the present quarter and renews at the beginning of the next quarter. You can check the status of your reviews anytime in your Technology Provider Tools portal.
Can anyone with access to Technology Provider Tools also see the Readership Analytics?
No. Readership Analytics is available to limited users, determined at the point of committing to the Customer First Program. Please contact your Program Manager or email us at PeerInsightsVendorSuccess@gartner.com for any questions on access.
I already have 25+ reviews in a market. Does that mean my Readership Analytics will “turn on” right away?
No. To “unlock” Readership Analytics, you must commit to the Customer First Program, and have at least 25 published reviews in the past four quarters that have been sourced and published from your sourcing efforts. We define “sourcing efforts” as reviews that were submitted directly to a custom review sourcing link generated through the Technology Provider Tools. If the customer came organically to submit a review, that review does not count toward the 25 minimum.
Are the 25 required published reviews in a specific period, or from all time?
The 25 required reviews should be published within the past four quarters, sourced from your sourcing efforts. Any reviews sourced and published in the current quarter will also count toward your 25 published reviews requirement.
Will we be notified in advance of our Readership Analytics “turning off” because we do not have 25 published reviews from our sourcing efforts in the past 12 months?
Access to your Readership Analytics renews quarterly. Soon you will be able to check the status of your Readership Analytics renewal or expiration date at the top of the Readership Analytics page within the Technology Provider Tools.
Interest Methodology
How do you calculate “Interest” data shown in the Readership Analytics?
We calculate interest data based on viewership of the Gartner Peer Insights pages. Your interest data accounts for unique page views from relevant pages where your company name or your product name appears. This includes the following:
- Page views in vendor profile in a market (Vendor Overview, Product Overview, Ratings, Reviews, Alternatives sections)
- Individual reviews
- Comparisons done with your company or your products
- Equally divided and allocated market listing pages (all market listing views/total number of vendors in market)
Combined page views from the above contribute toward the calculation of your interest score in the market.
We calculate the two dimensions displayed in “Your Interest” this way:
- Your interest in the market displays your interest score in the market. It calculates your interest share as a percentage of interest scores for all vendors combined in the market.
- Most viewed in the market displays your position in a market according to your interest score in the market.
