Good implementation but reporting/database support was lacking

The vendor was initially very helpful but there were a few areas where the help could have been better. We needed a more detailed data dictionary as we do our own reporting but they were unable to provide the documents we needed.

Updated Version Much Improved

The application functions as we wanted, but there were unexpected issues that we experienced due to the outdated, unsupported version of Java that the application required in order to work. We had to work though some application conflicts because of this. The newer version of Kronos has seemed to work out all the kinks and is much better than when we first implemented the solution.

Quick to get started, but disappointing knowledge of their own product

The implementation team from Kronos had a template for implementation and had the resources available to tackle the upgrade immediately. We have previously had to wait for Kronos to free up resources to begin in prior engagements. That being said, the team is very inexperienced and does not know their product very well. We often times had to get a team of 5-8 people from Kronos on the phone simultaneously to answer our questions. The PM knows the project timeline and can answer basic questions, but has zero knowledge of the product. Other application experts are also siloed and can only answer questions about their area of expertise. Kronos has also been very inflexible in regards to networking options for our time clock communication to their cloud instance. We had to shift our configuration to one we are not familiar with and essentially bend to their will. We have 600 remote time clocks that required multiple configuration changes due to the inflexible network solution, and Kronos was unable to provide an automated method to make these changes, forcing us to come up with an unsupported (by Kronos) method to make the changes ourselves. Our field employees are not technically skilled so this placed a great deal of pressure on us to come up with a plan. One "solution" that was floated our way was to replace our time clocks with the newer version that costs $3000+ each. Sales also promised several things that turned out to not be true; The first of which is the time clock configuration noted above; The second is the level of hardware provided to support our usage of the product (it was far lower than what we currently use); The third thing was the level of support from the implementation team turned out to be very inexperienced in their own product.
