We were tired of paying ridiculous amounts of money in both storage capital costs as well as annual maintenance costs for legacy monolithic storage and it was no longer sustainable as part of our business model. We were constantly having performance issues, had poor visibility into the issues and were struggling to keep up with the system maintenance and troubleshooting. After an extensive evaluation of 9 different vendors, we selected Tintri based on their ease of management, superior insight and visibility and low-cost point. The environment in a scope of the migration included over 2000 virtualized servers with 54Gbps of NFS throughput. We installed 10 Tintri 5080s and each one took no more than 3 hours per appliance by traditional system admins, network admins etc. Storage expertise was not required for the installs. We storage motioned over 2000 VMs in 3 months from our legacy storage to 5080s without any issues. We gained tremendous insight allowing us to quickly solve issues reported by customers and in some cases identify issues we wouldn't have otherwise been able to identify without the visibility into storage consumption on a per VM basis. We have been able to apply per VM QoS to guarantee available IO. On a single 5080 VM store, we have managed to push as much as 22Gbps. We average a 3.3x data reduction rate on several hundred TB of used storage We are doing DR replication across a large dedicated circuit between data centres withTintri appliances without issue. We are replicating 2+Gbps per VMstore. The limit is higher than this but we are performing throttling for various reasons. Tintri's support has been proactive and outstanding Complaints: Using SRM prevents you from using per VM replication.

We did a paid POC to test both a Hybrid array and an all flash system. This allowed us to verify or thoughts and confirm what we wanted to know.

Very efficient user interface allowing you to easily get a overview on how your virtual machines behave seen from the storage perspective all the way to the host. Easy to point out which VMs are using much IO, storage, CPU, memory, changes pr. day ect. Have not seen any other Storage vendor that embraces the VM platform this good, and giving you alot of monitoring possibilities in an very easy way. We had an issue with the VMstore and the support was very professional, fast and efficient. I have worked with other of the largest Storage vendors for years, but Tintri's functionality, simplicity and support has given me a way better experience than any of them.

In all we procured 600 TB of Tintri disk. Installation was a breeze, and my disk was available within a few days of installation. Tintri shipped the product within 48 hours, installed within a week - without issue - and ready for application testing. Very remarkable and painless process. Support from the vendor has been excellent.

Both Ahead and Tintri have, at every step, worked within our particular boundaries and have always provided us with great support and a great product.

Love the performance and ease of use

Easy to install, configure and manage. Much faster than our previous storage. Many features that other vendors would normally charge extra for.

It does what it has to do. We are able to provide the business with a very good performing VDI enviornment.

After using for a couple of years the top series T880, we were allowed to have a T5000 for a POC. Results were astonishing compared to traditional storage, and higher performances compared to our T880. In our function of Cloud Service Providers, although, such a technology was too much. We have thousands of VMs running miscellaneous applications, and T5000 by my point of view is the best solution to SQL and VDI. I have to say, although, that during this time period, price per GB went reducing so that today the gap between T800 series and T5000 is so low that should we buy another box we'll choose T5000.
