    Product(s): Oracle OBI EE

Great success with end-users, but complexity under the hood.

    Overall Comment

OBIEE is a very solid BI product. It's definitely more conservative, old-school, but we've seen fantastic uptake of self-service reporting due to the simplified interface and data models (complexity is hidden from the users).

What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

Consider whether you want to run the operations yourself

What do you like most about the product or service?

    End-user enablement

What do you dislike most about the product?

    Upgrades

What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Simplify install and upgrade.

If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

Leverage a 3rd party implementor and maintainer from the get-go. There is little value in maintaining the under-the-hood complexity.
