    Product(s): API Management Platform

    Implementation was difficult reflecting the relative immaturity of products in this space.

    Overall Comment

    This is a relatively new space and not suprisingly the vendor and the software are relatively immature. Certain pieces of the software simply did not work and the vendor's answer to everything was that our network was not set up correctly. Only later did we find out that the software in question was only being used by one company (an airline) and they were unwilling to speak with us. We ended up going with another product of theirs called Network Director which is working but only after a very PROLONGED timeline for implementation. Truth be told, part of this was our fault. This is a technology for which we just simply had no prior expertise.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    This is still an immature space, build in extra time to your project timeline. We have found vendor support quality to be of low to medium quality. You might run into ISO constraints as well as DMZ/firewall needs for this product that are not typical.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Certainly brings the capabilities we need, works well with IBM Data Power suite.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Overall immaturity of the solution.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Partnered with us for deployment or maybe made a stronger recommendation to set this up for us rather than us doing it internally.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    If we started over today, we would use an open source technology.
