    Easy to install and configure. Can deliver app performance insights immediately.

    Overall Comment

    Easy to implement. Basic configuration is quickly enabled. This provides value immediately. Greater insights require enhanced instrumentation of applications. This is more effort, but provides significantly more visibility into application performance.

    Vendor was very helpful setting up multiple meetings to connect internal technical staff from vendor knowledge workers from specific areas of the product to ensure understanding, and correct product setup.

    Provided a wide range of connectors for our different technology stacks. Is limited on functionality when it comes to the PHP connector. The white glove servie during implementation was very helpful.

    Licenseing of all software components can be expensive when dealing with SOA/Microservices platforms

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    The ability to see issues in the technology stack to pin point issues.

    Needs more work on the PHP connector. Has a limited feature set.

    Our reps was very engaged. Would have liked more time in office.

    Better hands on training forstaff.

    Easy to use and implement. Time to value is high.

    Offer better-consulting services. There is a gap between technical sales and consulting services.

    Take time to plan the layout of the UI environment.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Easy to deploy, and use with little to no impact on performance.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Sometimes difficult to find and aggregate information across many nodes in a large application.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Gave more flexibility in name standards and relationships between applications.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Have better standards on naming conventions and dashboard construction to provide the right views for the right teams.

    We get great service from the vendor however it is mostly from the technical sales team.

    Great solution. It doesn't work as well with hubot, but it does what it says really well.

    Test it and compare it against other vendors. It is expensive compared to the competition, which is not good for microservices

    The bad integration with HipChat, Slack and Hubot

    better pricing model

    Work on the best pricing up front. Test the identity piece and integration with slack / hipchat first. Test the various language plugins

    Very feature-rich monitoring. The monitoring added a slight overhead to memory and performance but it was manageable.

    Please evaluate the product to your specific needs, especially end to end stack monitoring.

    It's overpriced.

    It all worked out well. The product worked to our satisfaction.

    If you build it then will work, if you bought it better triple check if it will work.

    AppD team went above and beyond to make sure we were happy, though we found the solution couldn't address some vendor software we hoped to improve visibility.They were able to deliver on the benefits of our own in-house developed solutions.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    If you are building software that you operate, AppD gives a wealth of application diagnostics and business dashboard capabilities out of the box. If you bought software you want to monitor, PoC it and makes sure you configure it exactly how you would want it in production and that the outputs of the PoC meet your acceptance criteria and doesn't just look good or like it will do what you expected.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    The SaaS offering that frees our organization from the responsibility of scale of data and the auto upgrade of our environment to make sure we can take advantage of new innovations without having to slip the upgrade into our production release schedule.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    A little too focused on the open source / AWS / Linux enterprise world leaves those of us that are heavily invested in the Microsoft world wanting more or looking to other tools.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Provide best practice use cases around appropriate use, maybe a set or list of software that is AppD certified vs has limited capabilities so that we would know from our app portfolio where we could leverage AppD for deeper insights into the state of the application without investing heavily in R&D to discover if it will be worth implementing.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Make sure that the outputs of the tool for the vendor software we initially targetted were what we actually wanted and produced actionable data.

    Product capabilities - overall comment

    They are maturing their solution to compete with other monitoring solutions, this will create conflicts with other existing monitoring solutions, e.g. network / hardware / os, etc. if they could ingest other monitoring platforms data into their system and use it like they would from one of their own native agents we could reduce agent sprawl that seems to be occuring with everyone having their own agent.

    SaaS solution makes installing the agent fairly painless. Auto updates of the agent would make this an instant winner which I believe is on their roadmap.
