Customer support has been great. A little disappointed in Solutions Architecture. We ran into an issue where ExtraHop wasn't set up correctly when initially deployed (caused by vendor), and Solutions Architecture didn't catch it until well after go-live. The only fix was to reset the datastore causing us to lose about 3 months of prior data.
Make sure the discovery mode is set correctly initially.
Gives us visibility where we had very little before.
Data cannot be easily backed up.
I wish Solutions Architecture would have looked more at how our ExtraHop was configured instead of focusing on custom monitoring configuration.
Make sure the correct discovery mode is configured from the beginning. Make sure Gigamon or whatever tap solution is being used is not filtering out ARPs. Set up an extended datastore initially.

Worked well with us from start to finish.
The product shows you all the data you could want but you have to understand what you want to see and how it relates to your applications.
Allows us to see data that we were not able to see before.
Extrahop should produce their own bundles instead allowing others to upload some that work and some that do not.

From the first meeting with the local sales and engineer I was very impressed how knowledgeable they were and eager to show you how the product can help your business. Even after the proof of concept through the purchase the whole Extrahop staff has been extremely helpful. They definitely don't sell you a product and leave they go out of their way to continue meetings and try to increase your knowledge on the appliance.
Make sure to try all the modules and see what ones are most valuable to you.
The staff is as spectacular as the appliance is.
The smaller appliance only has 3 ports to accept traffic and needs 4 or 5.
Didn't charge for open standard module like SIP.
Nothing we are very happy with the outcome and this product
Not only can you call the toll free number for support your local engineer and trainer are willing to help at any time also.

The sales and support folks at ExtraHop are a pleasure to work with. They go above and beyond what I expected, and resolve all of our issues quickly and completely.
Learn to use the triggers and enjoy the seamless integration with Splunk. Amazing!
The ability to write a trigger to look at our wire data any way we want and either dashboard the results in ExtraHop or stream it to our Splunk environment for immediate use to many teams. Unheard of just a few years ago. Gamechanger.
Only the price. I wish we could afford more.
Improvement on the charting and dashboarding. It's fantastic and improved every release so far.
We initially only had budget to cover a small portion of one of our data centres. The data and insights we received from ExtraHop drove the design and architecture of our new tier four data centre and the refresh of our existing data centre.
Installation was easy and fast. Integrated beautifully with our Splunk deployment.

The vendor is dynamic, nimble and very customer focused. They demonstrated well after the sale their passion and commitment to their platform with several enhancements that addressed new and specific problems we were trying to gain insight too. Their post-sales support and interaction has been one of the best experiences in my 25 years in the healthcare IT business
Push your teams to use this as their central (and first) port of call when trying to resolve and troubleshoot application, network, server or general performance issues and break out of their silo tools.
Customer service and genuine passion for solving our problems and not just making a sale
That its hard to explain its market position to others
Come to market 10 years sooner
Purchased the search appliance sooner to gain even more insights
It does what we need and new features are added on a regular basis
Customer service is outstanding - they solve our problems not just tell us how to use the tool
Very easy to deploy, return actionable results and see progress. Atlas reports are a key part of extracting value in the early stages of deployment as it demonstrates what can be done with the product

The product worked and provided value out of the box. Basic visability was attained after providing connectivity and necessary certificates. This enabled our NOC to take a giant leap in monitoring applicaions and taking proactive measures to address issues prior to end-user impacts. Additional functionality was attained by working with the vendor to configure systems to our environment.
Train your implementation team and have a plan before fully adopting the product. The true power of this tool is the ability to put the power in the hands of admins and developers. Training should be manditory so the staff understands how to bend the tool to their needs. This can cut downtime and time to address severities by a factore of 10 or more.
The use of wire analytics without the need for agents simplifies deployment and operations. Also there is 0 impact to application operations as it does not use server resources and there is no need for downtime for upgrades.
Very little to dislike. Easy to deploy, support, and use products like this will severly challenge the large monolithic monitoring platforms that promise a single pain of glass.
The licensing model does not adapt well to small scale (sub-20 server) deployments in geographically disirate locations. This can raise the Opex/Capex model if not properly planned.
Nothing, we conducted market research, attained reference and conducted a bake-off. ExtraHop was the clear winner in the end and continues to deliver in ways we never anticipated.
Great product capabilities, as outlined in the prior comments.

Very hands on, really helped us with the implementation. Came onsite and also did some work remotely to complete the implementation.
Make sure you dedicate a couple people to learn this tool. Then allow them to be the trainers for others. The more people that know the tool the better. Can be network, Client, even your more technical Application staff.
the Atlas report is a great tool.
can't think of anything
You can always make the services a little less expensive.
nothing, we are completely satisfied with the relationship and how things were done.
Solid product, lots of options, very powerful tool.
I think when we have questions on something they will help us out. My team really likes working with them.
We purchased an appliance (fixed location) and vm license for a mobile (so we could place it in specific areas of our environment). Gives us a lot of flexibility.
