    We are bringing solutions to the end users faster than ever before

    Overall Comment

    We have been customers of Appian for over four years now and I can honestly not say enough good things about them. They value their customer's feedback and that feedback is present in every new release of the software. The leadership team at Appian is always thinking of ways to make the interface more user friendly which has helped us drive adoption. Most importantly for my development team the constant improvement to the developer tools has made them more efficient at bringing new solutions into production.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Find an application, or a number of applications, that touch a large user base and connects them with a positive experience. One of the applications we built that helped drive adoption was around employee time off. We built an application that let them take time off and track how much leave they had. This may seem minor but we had no way of doing that in the past. It was a quick and easy win and our workforce was logging in to do something they enjoy, take vacation. Finding wins like that was important.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    The turnaround time on new functionality is one of the greatest parts of the Appian solution. Every year we are seeing significant improvements in the tools available to our users and our developers. As I've mentioned in previous comments, it seems that the leadership team is taking the feedback from the user community and immediately implementing that feedback into releases in months rather than years.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Pretty happy overall.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Overall we are pretty happy with the solution. The only thing I might like to see is more licensing options.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    I would have chosen a greater number of smaller applications to build out initially rather than jumping in on a major application from the start. We built a number of smaller applications to drive adoption and get users in the system and then switched gears to a larger application with significant strategic importance to the organization. This helped with visibility but it stalled the excitement of the roll-out as we were not rapidly producing new features for a while. We are back on track but, I would have focused on a number of smaller applications alongside the major release of our main application.

    Best bottom's up provider of low-code workflow automation

    Overall Comment

    Best low-code platform for integrating business processes from a bottom's up approach. Great strategy and uniform message about what's core to their business. Vision and support in the pre and post sales process was outstanding. Would make the same decision if I had to do it over again.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Always consider how you are transforming your data before you re-engineer the process. The modeler in Appian will help you do this.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Great support and everyone all the way up the food chain is available to help.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Appian's professional service are a bit expensive, but there are quite a few other options available in the general market.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Provided the exact same usability with the Cloud as the do on-prem. When talking to users, the first question I ask now is "Are you in the Cloud or On-prem" because there are slight differences.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Two things we would do differently. We would lean on Appian for back-end integration. We would also leverage other users in their pitfalls before the implementation. We learned a lot from Appian, but getting real users is always better.

    Needs a lot of IT involvement in configuring the solution.
