Implementation took much longer and cost much more than expected. Product upgrade was forced by vendor but when we started implementation, they could not provide knowledgeable support and many gaps were found in product readiness. Required a reset of the project, a significantly increased budget, delayed implementation, and a commitment to get more knowledgeable resources from the vendor. The new resources were much better and helped get the project back on track.
Make sure you know what you're getting in to.
Much faster than prior version, nice UI.
Took customization to meet match functionalities of prior version.
Not force us to upgrade when the product and resources weren't ready.
Confirm the product was really ready for production and that vendor had available knowledgeable resources. Take a more serious look at alternative products before just upgrading.
