We implemented Servicenow from ITAM(IT asset management) area first, and learned the value of its effectiveness of "single system of record" and positive impacts on operational efficiency. After having that experience, we expand the scope from ITAM to HR operation management. As a result, we could improve dramatically (30% cost reduction, 50% transaction reduction etc.) by utilizing records such as IT related items(e.g. PC, mobiledevice, software lisence) and HR related record (e.g. employee number, name, account name). On top of that, we implemented those development internally, so it helps us to proceed iterative development with Sevicenow development framework (PaaS).

It can be very difficult for large corporations with traditional "Waterfall" implemention methodologies to work with ServiceNow's fast, Agile practices. This relationship works best if you have a focused internal team who are experienced with Agile development and have authority to work outside of Waterfall PMO practices.
