    Product(s): Archer Business Continuity Management

    Follow a logical flow - right out of the box.

    Overall Comment

    RSA Archer fit well into the existing BC process flow. Little configuration was required to begin capturing the necessary business process data. The integrated BIA application removed nearly all of the pain of past Excel-based efforts. Centralizing BC/DR artifacts combined with graphic representation of the underlying data create a solution that attracts and informs business users.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    RSA offers a read-only sandbox based on the solution you are considering. Spend time in that environment. Kick the tires. Roll down the windows, etc.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Ease of configuration.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    The MS Silverlight requirement.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Pushed a little harder to convince us to buy a larger PS time segment. We went well below the minimum for an engagement of this type.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Investigate the on-prem vs SaaS offerings a bit more. Have existing internal processes documented. Archer is totally customizable - but without conveying existing processes to the PS team - getting started can be awfully slow.

    Know and measure your risk only in Archer.

    Overall Comment

    Archer is the premier GRC tool world-wide. It allows us to quickly integrate all aspects of our Enterprise Risk Management, Governance, and Compliance data into one solution. It allows for an end to end view of our risk posture through an intuitive interface. The analytics provide our leadership teams the opportunity to make objective and well informed decisions on risk tolerance and appetite, and our regulators love it.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Reach out to others in your field for advice and don't be afraid to tailor your program to the tool.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Excellent customer focused team and really cares about quality.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    N/A

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Direct API integration (out of box) with more than one Crisis notification tool.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Slight changes in the way that we associate impact analysis data with our business continuity plans and strategies in order to more easily measure program compliance.

    From Implementation to maturity, Archer BCM successfully provides for the BC program.

    Overall Comment

    Archer BCM provided the best software package to provide business recovery plans in a relational database using a template, monitor and grade BR tests, conduct evaluations/ratings and complete Business Impact Analysis for priority ratings. We were able to bring support in house and host internally; it only took 6 months to fully implement. Archer, RSA and EMC have been supportive when issues were presented, usually helping with solutions. Our internal support team is excellent. The software seems very easy to work with but I am not a programmer; when I have asked how flexible it is for specific changes, I usually get the answer 'we can do that'.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Take the time you need to design the database and reporting you need.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Flexibility; ease of use once training is accomplished

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    It can be slow (response time). The way changes must be saved each time; having to go 'back to the top of screen' with each save can be cumbersome.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    It would have been nice to know that some sub-forms cannot be used for reporting.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Take more time to understand some of the internal design features that could make reporting easier and more meaningful. Initially we used Crystal reporting from a SQL database copy of the data which became cumbersome. We now print directly from Archer since upgrades have improved print capability.

    Flexible 'out of the box' technology with limited industry focus

    As the owner of multiple solutions withing Archer, the lead System Administrator, and executive sponsor, the technology has met our needs to be compliant with regulatory standards and external examinations.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Wait on utilizing RSA resources until further familiarity with the system and adequate Archer Administrator training. Utilize the industry standards/requirements as a framework for the build out with the reporting and 'end result' in mind.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    The two environments (DEV & PROD) enabling flexibility and enhancements to be 'validated' prior to promoting them to production.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Limited customized reporting and updates to end users by System Administrators.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Visibility/availability to the SaaS environment for SaaS clients.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Wait on utilizing RSA resources until further familiarity with the system and adequate Archer Administrator training. Utilize the industry standards/requirements as a framework for the build out with the reporting and 'end result' in mind.

    For the Business Continuity Management solution alone - however, we purchased multiple solutions resulting in a 1- year integration and deployment.
