    Product(s): Assurance Continuity Manager

Implementation went fine. Transition from consultants could have been better.

    Overall Comment

Customer support has been really good.

What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

Get a good understanding of reporting and what you can get out of it. We started the program from the groundup and weren't entirely sure of the information that we could leverage for decision making.

What do you like most about the product or service?

Customer support is very good and very quick.

What do you dislike most about the product?

Product has some quirks that aren't always intuitive.

What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

Would like more business intelligence built into the software. It should be able to rank application criticality based on BIA impact scoring.

If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

Better transition. Consultants customized some items and didn't provide us with adequate knowledge on how that would effect some reporting requirements.

    Product(s): Assurance Continuity Manager

    LDRPS to CMS migration

    Overall Comment

Sungard is very committed to its customers and has a tremendous amount of SME that can be tapped to complete BCM s/w implementation.

What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

Do a proper analysis of the BCM market space, read the BCM s/w Magic Quadrant and ensure that you do a proper PoC test before selecting a vendor. Do not underestimate the scope and complexity of the implementation. Many BCM solutions required a full-time in-house admin.

What do you like most about the product or service?

    Comprehensive feature set.

What do you dislike most about the product?

    Steep learning curve.

If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

Nothing in particular, we would have reduced the number of reports that were migrated from previous versions.

    Product(s): Assurance Continuity Manager

Product market implementation is premature for the technical side of the planning system.

    Overall Comment

The product appears to be more market ready on the BCP Planning side than the IT Recovery Planning side. Key LDRPS Functionality, such as relationship mapping and visuals were not carried forward. The reporting function is not ready. The basic editing tool of the system is archaic. The plan output out of the box was not a format we were eager to send to our plan owners, and needed as much in-house customization as we could do on our own. We were eager to support and embrace the change from LDRPS to Assurance, however, we were very disappointed at how much our production suffered as a result, and how much work it has taken to influence the changes we needed in the product. We are most willing to participate as a user group, however, we purchased a product to help us enable efficiencies, not to be instrumental in designing the product for market.

What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

Help ensure the right stakeholders are at the table during planning and discovery and if you decide to implement before the product is market ready, do it fully and be informed as to what you are getting, rather than disappointed about what you understood that you were getting, but didn't and had to work through it, rather than have it work for/ with you.

What do you like most about the product or service?

We are hopeful that the product release strategy will meet our need sooner than later.

What do you dislike most about the product?

Not as user-friendly as touted to be.

What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

Come right on site and observe our pain points to gain an understanding of our feedback, rather than write them off as the customer does not want to change.

If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

Ensure that BCP partner with IT during the planning and early discussions with SunGard, before making the change.

Integration & Deployment - Overall comment

Migration resulted in a lot of clean up. Not terribly unusual but time consuming.

Product(s): Living Disaster Recovery Planning System

LDRPS is a mature product, but on the way out with this vendor - Assurance is replacing it

    Overall Comment

The vendor is fine. Product support is uneven.

What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

Forget about LDRPS and go with Assurance, even though it did not quite seem ready for prime-time when we last checked.

What do you like most about the product or service?

It does what it does OK, but it's klunky.

What do you dislike most about the product?

Cumbersome and a sizable learning curve.

What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Support is/was uneven.

If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

We would have waited for Assurance. We decided to get rid of LDRPS regardless and have not yet replaced it.

    Product capabilities - overall comment

It was overly complex for our relatively simple needs.

Service & support - overall comment

    Support was OK.

Integration & Deployment - Overall comment

    No real complaints here.
