We were pleasantly surprised to find that even though our implementation was not the largest or more complex, we still received excellent "white glove" service from their suppotr team.
Test frequently. As you add new data sets, test iteratively versus adding all the available data at once.
Ease of use and implementation.
Additional pivots of the data are always welcome. Plus the ability to select historical comparisons (as opposed to the standard ones given)
Our initial data set wasn't structured properly and required the adoption of internal discipline and rigor.

I've seen DataDeck go from strength to strength in terms of continous improvement. They listen to what is required and proactively implement the most practical product enhancements. Their support has been top notch and you really feel like you're being treated as a top priority. The use of DataDeck has allowed us the full control of the data that we provide to our shareholders. It's automatically updated every day and available in the cloud for our employees and investors to check on our process - it's an easy to view dashboard with completely customized widgets of information which are fed to the super easy to use DataDeck platform via our internal Google Sheet. It couldn't be easier to use, we decided to use DataDeck after minutes of experimentation because the process of building a BI dashboard with them was just so intuitive. Regardless of what we're asked to present, we're able to have it on the dashboard in a matter of minutes thanks to the flexibility of the software.
Map our what data you'd like to present/use before you design it/put it together on DataDeck. But this is really common sense I guess. I'd say if you get stuck then just reach out to the team on the live chat and all will be quickly and courteously resolved or clarified for you.
Its ease of implementation and the thorough support service.
Could have more mobile display control, to allow the users to choose what order the widgets appear on the mobile display. At present (Aug 2016) they're ordered by what date the widgets were added, but it would be helpful to have a mode to allow them to appear from top to bottom as they do on the desktop view. Usually this is prioritised or broken into sections by the user intentionally.
Had more auto refreshes from data sources and maybe add even more visual customisation options. But I'm certain these are in the pipeline anyway.
Nothing, we actually found that because the platform was so intuitive we nailed it pretty much first time, give or take a few small edits.
The speed of response and the personalised approach makes DataDeck a standout product for me, it's so rare today to get such considered and helpful support so quickly.

We used Datadeck to give an Australian telco 360-degree visibility on their business. It was easy to combine and visualize key metrics from a central database, spreadsheet and Google Analytics all on the one dashboard. We tried building such a reporting dashboard ourselves but it didn't look great. The management team really wanted something they could show investors without any further presentation work required. Some of Datadeck's on the fly calculation capabilities are limited but their support assures me that these are under development.
Consider exactly what you need. It's easy to get carried away with features, thousands of charts and reporting capabilities that you don't really need. A simpler solution is often the best solution.
The ease of use. After our development team connected our database anyone inside our company was able query data and create reports with impact.
The report sharing functionality is limited. It would be good to have more control over permissions.
Better in app data calculations. We can overcome this by calculating such information in the spreadsheet or directly out of the database. However, it would be best if we could do all of this within Datadeck.
We wouldn't try build our own in-house reporting dash. It requires too much development effort and the end result does not deliver the 'wow' factor. Also choosing a cloud reporting solution has allowed us to be more agile. Staff don't need our developers to create new reports - they do this themselves.
Datadeck makes it easy to visualize data and create reports with impact.
Datadeck are very fast to respond to questions.
We handled most of the intergration and deployment ourselves. We only call upon Datadeck when we had a question or were unsure of the best practice to employ.
