Only supports Salesforce connector. Depends on ETL tools to house the data from other disparate sources to get into Wave datasets.

Wave was a bit of a no brainer for our company with it's integration to Salesforce and the action framework enabling users to ask questions and take action directly in Salesforce. The visualization are beautiful and intuitive, the business loves the look and feel. But it needs work on the back-end, from a platform administration perspective. A lot of this functionality is one the roadmap but it's tough to wait for it. Look forward to seeing what Wave looks like in the next 6 months - 1 year.

Wave is a maturing platform and presents both risk and strategic departure from other--still extant--BI tools on premise. The selection was based on an existing investment in the Salesforce ecosystem and a desire for tighter alignment between the system of engagement and the system of report.

Simple deployment through Salesforce. Ease of use for end users is very high. Highly customizable. Ability to pull in non-Salesforce data sources is superb. Cloud deployment. What has been hard has been the learning curve to sruture our data. I do not think this has been any harder with Wave than another tool. Training available is getting better, but not as good as it could be.

Good experience working with the people of Salesforce; the Wave tool is a bit more complicated to develop dashboards with customizations and is a big opportunity for improvement in the future. The roadmap shows improvement, but it's not clear whether JSON coding will be eliminated completely from the report/dashboard building process.

Wave is a great data visual tool integrated in our Salesforce to make powerful recommendations, insights, and provide visibility of our product line. As a platform, Wave can encompasses all the sales, service, and marketing data that Salesforce customers generate. Wave data can be easily refereshed and it does not have hard SQL, but uses a key-value store. Wave is a cloud based data platform that can easily measure our organztion's Saleforce data, but third party data can also be intergrated easily. As an anlaytics team, we do not have issues using the powerful tools of Wave. At times we want ot change the font/shart sizes and colors, but you can do that with a simple Excel export. Wave is useful for my team to create automated dashboard and measure our revenue projected growth overtime. I have used Wave to budget and forcast revenue, as well as add in every line of product. My charts can take this as a percent of total and I am able to filter by month, date, year to get a good forecast. The easy thing is the data refereshes on its own backed by our Salesforce data base. I will mention that someone had to do some hard coding using JASON and SOQL to get the product up and running.

Great experience with salesforce and the product. Good relationships with the product team and we have spoken on their behalf at Dreamforce, etc. to demonstrate and successful customer implementation for a SMB company. Biggest problems were around implementation and continuing support. We started to switch our 3rd partner implementation partner 2 months in to the product. Not enough good partner ecosystem for the product yet - but we have finally found a good option for us and are good now. Product - I would give an A(5). Implementation via 3rd party provider - I would give a C (3/5). Average is B (4/5).
