    Alternative to SCCM

    Overall Comment

    ZENworks has an incredible amount of maturity in the application deployment and device management space. We've had SCCM experts come in that were amazed by its flexibility, power and ease of use.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Look at the depth of options ZENworks provides before making a decision.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    It's maturity and depth of functionality and ease of use.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    It is less well known in the US, so finding consulting support is more difficult.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Better release management to avoid duplicate problems between releases. Regular license audits.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Nothing.

    ZCM is a great choice

    Overall Comment

    We implemented the latest version of ZCM because we had experience with it. ZCM is a great choice if you do not have SCCM in your Microsoft licensing already.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Make sure that you do not use ZCM for desktop icons. They frequently disappear and the users don't know what to do after they are gone.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Ease of use. It is greatly customizable and flexible. Very easy to pick up.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    The application and hardware inventory pieces were very clunky and took a lot of configuration and resources to handle.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Not using ZCM to publish desktop icons. I would only use it to deploy software.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    make sure that you implement ZCM with your infrastructure architecture in mind. It can be a heavy load on your environment, especially VDI.

    Involve Novell consulting early in the project.

    Comprehensive solution yet focused on what is needed.

    Community is small.

    More market visibility.

    More training for staff.
