We have been using Cloudera Distribution Platform from last five years. We have setup multiple Cloudera clusters on Linux platform using Kerberos/non-Kerberos on the public cloud as well as at on-premise. We have have been utilizing Cloudera Data Platform as our main data warehouse which is implemented as a data lake. We do data ingestion from SQL, Oracle along with various other feeds. Cloudera is the most efficient data structuring platform we have been able to use and create our own data models. Cloudera enables us to solve comprehensive Big data environment which is easy to deploy and monitor.

I have been using mumps or cache you say for 19 years starting from cache 3.0. Today the largest number of cache user in one of instance is well over 500. I have almost attended Devcon every year for the last 10 years also. I like cache, well especially Mumps. Majority of my codes are in mumps. Almost all the programmers in our department are mumps programmers. Although a recently hired director want to move away from mumps. I don't think it is a good idea not to use mumps since mumps is so fast. And on the upper layers, I can easily communicate with mumps via sockets, VISM which is a COM interface to Mumps or I can use JDBC/ODBC to connect to mumps globals. Other consideration i like most is the .net interface and c++ interface. In a nutshell, I have all means interfacing upper level application with my mumps global. So trying to make changes is sort of unwise in my opinion. But I understand my new directer knows nothing about mumps. Speaking of management of cache, it is still very easy may be due to my familiarity of cache. All the tools, either from command line or from gui are very handy. We have upgraded cache to IRIS since last year. IRIS, be honest, to me, not much different from Cache, still a very easy to use database.

Amazon is a pretty good quality product, plus we can say that Amazon Aurora covers all aspects of a relational database. This gives amazing stability because it encrypts your data. It is 5 times faster than MySQL database. We also have the opportunity to note that this is an amazing product that can be very well adapted to your company.

My current company is moving from on-premises to cloud and Azure SQL database is a good choice for migrating om-premises database to cloud. Since it is integrated with other Azure resources it makes it easy to have a great communication with the web services that we have running is Azure. Moreover, the pricing model is very suitable and we are only paying for the resources that we use.

Our organisation is a global shipping company, We use Intersystems IRIS to track & process equipment (containers) moves around the world. We process 500,000 moves, from 200+ agencies worldwide, so we need a reliable, high performance system. Intersystems IRIS with it's "interoperability" (former "Ensemble") gives us the ability to synchronize the moves data with other systems in the organization. We run a HA solution (on Microsoft Azure cloud) with a separate layers for processing of the moves (Read/Write), and a-sync (mirroring) reporting servers (ReadOnly), to give our users the ability to view our (huge) "stock" of containers in real-time .For example: Some of those reports scan over 1 billion records to get a result in just a few seconds (!) Only with IRIS platform we can achieve such a good performance. In addition, the ability of IRIS to scale both horizontally and vertically gives us the flexibility and confidence for future growth of our bushiness.

The software is very easy to use, it scales linearly, and requires very little maintenance. Large queries that were timing out in Oracle were finishing sub-millisecond in Couchbase. We can fail over data centers and the applications that connect to Couchbase continue working without intervention.

We converted a mature, big data application from Microsoft Azure SQL to SingleStore. The SingleStore people were very patient and supportive as we painstakingly ported parts of our system to SingleStore so that we could benchmark and evaluate. We were impressed with the speed and stability of SingleStore. Microsoft Azure SQL also had the stability, but could not compete on speed.
As a Student Information Services provider we used MariaDB for over ten years as our primary database on our dedicated servers, never had any issue, simple rock solid. As we grow, we had a need for more scalable solution as well as redundancy. Since familiar with MariaDB, our logical next step was SkySQL (Maria's database-as-a-service). Initially we got one primary and two replicas 16x60 instances with MaxScale on top which was sufficient to replace our 6 dedicated servers we were running. Costwise, it was just a bit over to what we were paying for barebone servers, however, no more server maintenance, linux updates, security patches, licenses and whatnot, all this is included in price with one of the best support folks I have ever seen. With MaxScale and self healing K8's you get true High Availability. We also signed for their SkyDBA service, it is truly as having full time DBA on staff. They monitor our servers 24x7, restore instantly from the backup when needed and even redoing some of our queries for better execution. Very valuable.
