Web based project management tool made implementation easy - more functionality needed

Our overall experience with SmartSheet has been a very good one. Although not as robust as MS Project, the web based application allows for better visibility & collaboration across all teams.

High-Quality, Affordable Collaboration Platform for Remote Teams

There are a few functions we wish the product had (at least on its roadmap). But overall, it does what we need it to do, it has very informative trainings available at no cost, and our contact with the company is very reponsive and helpful.

Works great, with a few glitches

The product does most of what the vendor says it does. We also purchased the Calendar App, which is still in Beta and isn't as elegant or perfect as I would like it to be. The Smartsheet team was very engaged when it came to setting everything up, offering input and advice on best practices, and helping train the team. Our client success rep even came out in person. Dealing with their legal team to get the agreements signed was a total nightmare. We went back and forth dozens of times. I believe they have finally streamlined this.

Easy to learn and flexible enough for all departments

The online help vignettes make learning how to use Smartsheet quick and easy. The snap-ins for other programs, such as Box and Egnyte are also very helpful so we don't have data floating in a million different places. Although the quantity and variety of templates is broad, we've especially appreciated the ability to create our own templates. However, we can't edit a template which would be a helpful feature. We've also experienced interest from our accounting team who are die-hard Excel users. Being able to integrate accounting functions, such as budgeting and forecasting along with project management will make all our jobs easier and provide a one-stop source of information (using Sights) for our exec-level team.

Excellent tool. A bit pricey for 20 users. Limits to number of sheets per user.

While the tool is extremely similar to Excel, it's limitations are also that it features mirror Excel. It's sheet based and embedding sheets to link data is a great feature, but data linking is lost upon export. We initally chose for Project Management, Portfolio Management, and New Product Development tracking. There is also a mobile app that is very good and helped us during our initial deployment.

SmartSheet Implementation and usage

Smartsheet is fairly a new player in the PPM tools. However, we wanted a low cost and basic solution to start with and SmartSheet was the best possible option available. There is of course a room for improvement for out of the box solutions ( can be bundled as needed). New feature integrations and rollout from SmartSheet is little behind than I would have expected. Competitors are faster than them.

Thorough yet flexible implementation and integration

This company is very easy to work with, and will dedicate the right amount of resources to get the job done. They are customer focused and willing to do the work to satisfy your needs. However, at the end of the day, they are still like any other service business. As long as you know what you need and are willing to accept input, a good relationship can be created. As for the product, it is a clean, lean and agile system. It is meant to be a collaborative project management system, and it performes well in that sector.

Easy platform to put to use

Was quick to implement and easy to use. The ability to see benefit with the department and on PM was great. Vendor worked with us to intergrate with other applications to complete the lifecycle
