Smartsheet is a robust product hidden in what appears to be an Excel lite interface. That almost instant familiarity for staff in our organization seemed to liberate them to experimentation and exploration seldom seen when introducing new products. It's important that all staff who will be using Smartsheet go through available video trainings and a "success manager" led onboarding session (s). Due to how easy it is to get started, you may misinterpret that Smartsheet is lacking capability; however, that is not the case. In fact, some of your staff may quickly try to convert everything to Smartsheet Expect a disruption in process as people begin to realize the power of the product. Depending on how you'd like to use Smartsheet - there is a need for planning and devising certain standards in the organization. We saw an explosion of sheets created across our team - as different staff raced ahead creating various sheets there were no standards in how they named columns (fields) - some would use "Comments" some "Notes" or some used "Assigned To" and others "Contact". When we began creating Reports (views), the lack of standard naming became an issue. This is a product where the users will easily outpace your attempts to create content (templates), standards etc. You likely will not necessarily want to shut down this initiative and excitement, but you should expect a pattern of uncontrolled growth resulting in issues followed by policy or process improvement then normalization and back to uncontrolled growth. Rinse and repeat. Rely on your Customer Success Manager.

The ONLY solution needed for collaborative Project, Task and Resource management

To date we have used Smartsheet for the management of hundreds of projects within our organization, both enterprise wide and team wide. We have used it to share expansive projects with external partners and teams and it has drastically changed the speed of our operations and greatly increased our transparency and visibility to the business. We also use it extensively for resource management and process/progress dashboarding. It is one of the most fantastic SaaS tools in our stack.

Intuitive Collaborative Work Management Platform we can't live without.

I was introduced to Smartsheet during my time as CFO (same company) where we were undergoing a significant capital raise. We spent all day emailing around spreadsheets and the version control was a nightmare. One of our vendors shared us a sheet from Smartsheet and the grid looked just like Excel but had links to the dataroom, financial models, etc. We started a free trial and then purchased a small plan to pilot in the finance organization. We imported existing spreasheets from Excel and MS Project into Smartsheet and essentially just transferred over existing project management for finance and compliance into Smartsheet. Our team was already using Dropbox, so we could work with that existing data bank with Smartsheet. We work in a heavily regulated industry so security and compliance considerations were at top of list. We use SSO with Smartsheet and found that it was easy to provision new users easily (headcount has increased 5x). Now using smartsheet to manage vendor management and selection process. Sharing outside of our domain is very easy.

A Robust and Intuitive Cloud Scheduling/Spreadsheet Platform [Highly Recommended]

Not only has Smartsheet proven robust enough to meet the scale and speed at which our business operates, the support provided by the account manager at an enterprise level is fantastic. With the help of our account manager we were able to partner with our client (also on Smartsheet Enterprise) and coordinate the scheduling and status relay of a massive project rollout that would have otherwise been too costly to manage effectively. By providing realtime visibility, our staff spends less time in meetings/on phone preparing individual project status updatesand more time providing billable service to the client. Smartsheet has also enabled our staff to manage tasks across accounts more effectively and overhauled many of our HR and logistical workflows (hiring, travel booking, program issue flagging). Our bottom line has reflected all the initiatives and workflows Smartsheet affords.
