Very good tool, functions readily available for the Fincancial forecasting and budgeting.
gather feedback from other customers prior to getting the tool.
Ease of tools and GUI.
less help and documentation around the coding and development.
Finance related functions and pre built MDX works pretty well and are easy to use.
Take some examples and lessons learnt as feedbacks.
Satisfied to certain extent, the support could be better.

Oracle has been a challenging partner to work with at times. Their focus is on sales with older sales techniques rather than partnering to help identify and implement the solutions we need.
Spend more time with your implementation partner vs the vendor. The vendor is driving the sale of the product, but the partner will help you gain value.
The product has improved our processes and provided a more stable environment for us to enhance reporting options.
The complexity of the product creates challenges for our users and administrators at times. Simplifying the product would help the business and IT greatly.
Engage and help our leadership see the long term vision the tool can provide.
Spend more time assessing what we wanted the future to be like, rather than how to duplicate the current environment.
The service and support model from the vendor is difficult to navigate. The turn around for responses and support is at a snails pace.

World class product, very expensive, costly to support and maintain.
Do not underestimate the requirements the install puts on your internal financial organization. Outside services can provide guidance and software expertise; your folks will drive the configuration and overall success.
Ability to cover a broad spectrum of financial requirements.
Overall care and feeding requirements of the stack exceed our internal staffing capability.
Provided a little more warning that the lack of internal resources would lead to support issues.
Devote a far greater number of internal FTEs to the implementation and care and feeding of the products. Ensure that the user community that are now required to use the product outside of Shared Services are more heavily involved. Put a far more robust support structure in place.
The capability is there; we need to utilize it.

Oracle's EPM platform is growing at a strong pace. Their acquisitions and integration into their EPM suite make their EPM offering a strong contender in Corporate Performance Management Suites. They offer on permises and cloud based solutions.
Start asking early in your consulting / programming supplier base to understand who has HFM programming capabilities and negotiate labor rates and skill early to understand total cost.
Strong financial close management and financial management suite that is web-based.
Licensing and terms.
I wish that Oracle had better transparency in software offerings, upgrade paths and maintenances costs.
Understand license conversion, software terms and your Oracle License and Software Agreement. Negotiate software maintenance upfront to avoid heavy cumulative software maintenance fees.
