I was led to believe that support was local but in reality it is in India and the sales and management is just local. Suppor is barely acceptable with it being very difficult to contact them during my normal business hours. The system we purchased was far under needed capacity a month into implementation.

It does what it says. Crude sometimes with its technology and user interface.

We needed to implement a different Backup Data Recovery Solution and had some experience with ArcServe in a smaller capacity. The overall deployment was seamless and has provided us with a more reliable Data Recovery solution. We use the Arcserve on a daily basis and in meets compliance specifications for our clients.

Arcserve was great to work with on the pre-sales front, answering any questions, fielding multiple calls and e-mails with no complaint or pressure to buy. Once the decision was made, the purchase and installation of the UDP appliance went smoothly, and any support issues handled in a timely and courteous fashion. The only shortcoming is the documentation with regards to using the legacy backup software with the UDP appliance, it's rather sparse.

Having utilized CA Arcerve for many years the product really started to stabilize a few years ago. Though support is good need 6to give yourself ample time to fix/correct issues.

The US based support for this product is excellent. However, the off shore support (nights and weekends) was not good.
