    Hire in house experts before implementing.

    lack of reporting and dashboards. (built in).

    Integrate reporting and dashboarding.

    Good product, but pricy

    TIvoli appears to be pricing itself out of the market. Otherwise, I have no complaints

    Update both firmware and hardware regularly. Push back if upper managment wants to de-emphasize backups and DR.

    Smooth Implementation With Minor Issues Being Encountered.

    Do your due diligence, compare at least 3 solutions when seeking out this type of solution.

    The Product is easy to manage and interact with.

    Nothing that I can think of.

    Nothing that I can think of.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Allow for more time within the implementation plan. We were cutting it close at the end of the plan and there were thoughts that we might not make the go-live date.

    Would have chosen a different vendor, but TSM was the incumbent.

    It's not common to have multiple client backup failures every day. In the previous job where Legato Networker was used, a single backup failure was cause for alarm.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Don't always choose to continue using the incumbent product if you do a "bake off".

    Widespread adoption.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Inflexibility of the vendor to offer support.

    Choose a different product.

    Old technology with cobbled together funtionality

    Overall Comment

    Backup is unreliable and backup window too long. Casues high load on production servers when backup runs over. File restore/mount unreliable.

    Look carefully at all the peices needed to implement tsm-ve for native vm backups.

    the age of the product shows.

    better management interface to make management easier.

    Choose a newer yet proven virtualization backup product.
