    The vm support must be better! But over all it is a very performative and realible product.

    Test and look for vm backup

    I like the support of the product. It is very fast and helpful.

    I wish a more structured documentation

    from the beginning to today never regrets to choose SEP Sesam

    Excellent Support; super product and if you know the internals you can do a lot of things and can troubleshoot for yourself, very good performance. Many integrations and platform independent, very good wiki!

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    read the wiki to learn about the internals and concept of SEP Sesam. This is the most usefull advice i think, because of this you are able to do a lot of fantastic things which will make your daily work easier

    great support

    no Web GUI

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Please, please, please develop a Web GUI!

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    maybe some configuration right from the beginning, which we have later learned during the productive phase

    Great support from the vendor (in german!), a flexible product with a lot of features.

    Try SEP Sesam.

    There should be a bigger community (support forum with more activity. ok, that's maybe not the fault of the vendor). Monitoring the software and backup results are not that easy, the vendor should provide monitoring-examples beside Nagios (check_mk for example).

    I think nothing.

    Good technical support, for a stable product.

    We had a few issues with the product, but with the excellent support, we could figure everything out within a few days. A small drawback is a multi-tenancy support for the SAP HANA backup.

    It is an authorised backup tool for SAP HANA

    Choose a different approach for the multi-tenant backup of our SAP HANA environment

    SEP origin as backup for the VMS platform - very professional development

    Very good German support - comparison backup exec - Indian supporter with pidgin English modular concept, completely scriptable. A complete platform, DB, mail, DR backup and restore support.

    precise disaster recovery planning for the backup is crucial

    modular concept and the scripting capabilities

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    in the beginning, the GUI was very slow and not very stable

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    I like the product but sometimes bug fixing is a little bit slow but far faster as other backup vendors from what I heard from other customers

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    A different approach for the introduction of the Windows server platform. Problems with the Windows server DR solution.

    It's not perfect for Remote WAN-Backups, because when the Internet connection failed, also the backup doesn't work. But this will be solved in the next version.

    Great backup software for any company!

    Product works fast and reliably with any OS/HW you can think of and has a very fast and dedicated support.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Take your time understanding the internal structure; once you get that and the nomenclature, it's dead simple.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Once you have some understanding you can troubleshoot a lot yourself and implement it yourself!

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    New (vmware) features take quite a while to be implemented and getting kinks worked out.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Better UI (maybe Win32) and better wiki.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Take the SEP trainings beforehand and implement it alone with just the vendor helping.

    No software works perfectly; but at least here you get very fast and competent support via mail, telephone and remote. And if that's not enough, their software engineers will get you a patch asap.
