The overall VEEAM implementation experience was excellent. We're backing up to our own storage and running it on our own servers, so we have full control over what's going on with that platform. It gives me peace of mind as a healthcare organization.
Not much advice to give, this is a simple to use platform with a wide breadth of features. It's easy to set up and use.
It's simple, cost-effective, and powerful. Everything a backup platform should be. Restores are dead simple and just work.
I mentioned it before, it doesn't auto-add new VMs or remove missing ones. That's an entirely manual process and you have to remember to do it or it won't capture your environment right, and will throw errors in your backup jobs.
The only thing I don't like is that VEEAM doesn't auto-add new VMs or remove them when retired from the hosts, it just gives an error on the backup job if the VM isn't there anymore, and you have to make sure you log in and tell it to back up new VMs. Make sure you have this on your checklist, because the platform won't do it for you.
If we could start over, we'd do the same thing. We might buy all licenses up front, but in my opinion, buying licenses as we need them was easier and simpler.
We don't use a 3rd party support company for this platform.

Veeam has provided a strong platform for simplifying backups and increasing overall performance in the virtual enterprise. While there were a few technology challenges, Veeam demonstrated strong partnerships with other technology innovators, providing timely solutions to our needs.
Test all areas of fuctional backup under load during the pilot phase. Veeam excelled in most areas, however we needed to rely on Veeam partners in some areas such as high I/O database environments. The cost benefit did not initially include the augmentation required for these areas of backup specialization and the diversity required to implement the full solution.
Easy to implement, low cost, provides excellent performance in the virtual environment.
Required layered solutions to meet all backup environment needs.
Provide a more comprehensive up front analysis of the customer's backup environment coupled with an onsite survey of backup needs tailored to the specific customer.
We would focus more on understanding the relationship between Veeam and how their partners can facilitate compliance requirements as part of the overall backup and recovery solution.
Veeam has provided a good level of technical support and has worked with us to identify issues and understand how to manage any challenges in our environment.

Veeam Backup and Replication is a well thought out and mature product that helped us feel more secure with our DR procedures and policies. All though implementation was relatively easy compared to our old product (Backup Exec), Technical support is top notch and helped us throught the difficult steps professionaly and made it easy.
Choose your hardware target wisely.

Features are very good and covers all of our needs specially based on cost
Not sure since we evaluated a number of solutions with a wide range of cost. I would say for a highly virtualized environment this is a solution you should consider.
The ability to protect our entire environment and improve our flexibilty compared to our previous solution.
At the current point of our deployement and usage we haven't come across anything that we don't like about the solution.
Offer some base training to system administrators.
Nothing, The process from technical review, POC and implementation was very smooth.

Veeam really helped revolutionize our backup & recovery and DR strategies. Previously, we had been using a very complex Backup Exec system that no one really knew how to use.
Make sure to get proper training on ways to "fine tune" the product for your environment.
Simple to use.
