InfoSphere DataStage, InfoSphere Information Server

Not inexpensive, but a full product with a lot of supporting resources

Vendor has helped on several technical and non-technical areas

InfoSphere DataStage, InfoSphere Information Server

Worked as advertised but needs improvement

Overall experience is good. The product works as advertised. We were using old version of DataStage and it has its limitations like debugging and needs local OS access for users who wants to use the tool. IBM support is not that quick when compare to other vendors.

InfoSphere DataStage

A reliable ETL tool from a reliable vendor

As expected, IBM has extensive knowledge of the product and has provided a lot of assistance

InfoSphere DataStage

Good development to production vision.

Easy to put in production, easy to develop, good performance

InfoSphere DataStage

robust toolkit, particularly once a code base and patterns have been established

IBM process is a bit tedious when we open new PMRs. On the other hand, sever 1 PMRs are addressed immediately. A couple of their "Fix-packs" have broken prior working functionality.

InfoSphere DataStage

Implementation was easy

Upgrade from older versions to newer is very smooth, documentation on limitations would have helped better.

InfoSphere Information Server

Implementation is easy but need to have right folks install and configure.

The tool does what it promises, although the advanced concepts of unstructured data are not well documented and not easy to use without significant investment from experts who already know the tool.

InfoSphere Information Server

Implementation was challenging because of the the disparate sources

Satisfied with the support

InfoSphere DataStage

Great partner to work with but difficult to upgrade

IBM in general is very cautious in their product releases and are usually behind what the industry is offerring. Their breadth of offerrings is a positive factor as we don't end up paying for individual products once enterprise agreement is in place. Their product support system also helps us. Upgrades are a pain and very manual.

InfoSphere DataStage

Easy implementation

Adoption took a long time but was a worthwhile upgrade as the organization had the previous version
