SAP Data integration technologies for application integration across the hybrid platform. Integrating SAP with heterogeneous environments.
When you find a good developer/application resource hold on to them. Great synergies are realized when they grow with you and learn your company drivers and needs.
the capability to quickly extract, transform and load data from multiple applications and databases.
stability of the dev. & QA environment due to memory or CPU issues; configuration of test environments (possibly undersized) caused business trust issues.
Engage and interview 3rd party providers to ensure knowledge base.

Experienced unavailability of qualified resources.
Use an established system integrator for implementation.
Ability to integrate easily with the SAP modules data.
Perfomance is as not good as expected or promised.
Make sure qualified implementation resources are available either through vendor or vendor partners.
Wait for the technology and the supporting ecosystem to mature.

Data Services 4.1 is a solid data integration product.
Establish what your goals are (no detail is too small) and find a vendor that provides the best value (not always the lowest cost) for your needs.
This product is robust and meets all of our data integration needs.
I would create a detailed plan and consider alternative vendors.

Overall, the experience is positive. We received good support from the vendor, there is a good pool of available resources that are knowledgeable with the product.
Understand your environment and needs.
Minimal issues encountered with the product. Finding resources to support the deployment was relatively easy.

Not the best.
Go with another vendor.
It does work in the end.
Hard to use.
Actually did the implementation.
Works for our needs.
Not the best at supporting.
Worked okay once we did it.

Implementation and training were good overall, but end-user ease of use was not. The product ended up being very difficult for most end-users to manage, and universe construction was laborious.
Ensure you have end-users who are capable of becoming "super users", who can train and support less technically-oriented users. This will help relieve some of the burden on IT.
Organization of reports, scheduling capabilities were helpful.
Volatile customization options, not easy for end-users to manage, quite clunky to use (high overhead).
Been more responsive and supportive after deployment. They were slow to respond to issues and needs.
We would investigate much more self-service oriented options.
It really had none of the more advanced self-service capabilities that we've come to need.
Software upgrades were somewhat laborious, but that was not entirely the fault of SAP. (Hosting concerns)
Integrated relatively well with other applications.
