    Responsive and proactive competitor

    The vendor has established the relationship with our company and has been responsive to our needs for improvements in the product and interoperability with existing warehousing technologies.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Understand your enterprise data strategy and how it aligns with your BI consumption strategy.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Very responsive support and customer engagement.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Need better support for federated models of working with their semantic framework.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Mature a roadmap for NoSql database support.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Drive the program based on business decisions of value to our organization and less time on tech evals.

    Easy upgrade: the only challenges were reimplement our custom integrations and retesting

    The upgrade itself is pretty seamless. The challenge is with regression testing integrations we had with other products consumimg our app as a webservice and re-integrating the GIS plugin we use, Visual Crossing.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    The tool is super powerful and super flexible, but just like with any application, if you customize, you'll have to do it again.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    The tool today is powerful, flexible, scalable and the pace of innovation is accelerating like crazy. Version 10 sounds awesome (have used it on desktop) and we plan to upgrade in the next few months.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    With power, security and scalability (and pedigree) comes complexity and some pretty decrepit architect tools. Maybe it's don't fix what ain't broke, but for the architects, the user experience could be better. But, I would rather the end user be taken care of and they are devoting tons of energy there.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    I am unsure it's the vendor or our conservative IT strategy, but I wish our entire, highly interdependent architecture could be upgraded in place rather than copied, upgraded, regression tested and then promoted. They do have nice tools to regression test all of our objects. Very comprehensive, but not as coherent as I wish. I want an easy upgrade button and a big checkmark when everything is perfect - just like a simpler iOS app.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Upgrade more frequently and replace customizations with out of the box functionality.

    Super responsive, friendly service. A little turnover in support engineers this past year did affect the speed to solutions but they got there.

    Microstrategy implementation.

    Although this is a good product in the past we experienced support issues with delayed response and skilset limitation. Recently response improved and there has been a new, better relationship with the vendor.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Check with other customers on the challenges they face, don't base your expectations simply on vendor demo and POC.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Ability to create nice dashboards, canned reports, download data (although volume is limited).

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Limitation on rendering number of rows and how much data we can download (very limited).

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Explain how the tool will be used by power user vs. end user with limited technical abilities.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Spend more time understanding challenges other companies faced during implementation.

    Faced some challenges and MSTR was slow to respond and support but eventually helped us install successfully. Would help if they made recomendation on infrastructure.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Good enterprise tool but get good architects on board in early phases as setting up the base is key for successful enterprise projects with MSTR.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Very mature enterprise analytics platform.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Dependancy on narrowcast to generate XL template based outputs distribution services should have been able to do it by itself.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Better response time.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Engage MSTR partner resources more earlier as response from them is not optimal.
