ShareFile makes external collaboration simple in a controlled fashion.

The product is quite simple to use - we adopted it for IT projects initially and then rolled it out to other departments as needs appeared. A very simple implementation.

It is all about technical support

Technical issues existed that took a while to be resovled by the vendor. Some still unresolved.

Great Product, kind of hard to configure

Implementation, feature set were excellent, although Enterprise Sync product was disaster

ShareFile provided the right mix of features, customer support, and competitive pricing; while there were a few hiccups fully implementing the system to our specifications, Citrix did a good job of identifying the right product line and upgrading us at no cost once it was clear our initial subscription was not appropriate.

Secure, reliable, and easy for the end user

It just works. There are a lot of file sharing and collaboration options. It's easy to share files with users outside of our organization and provides robust options for sharing and collaborating within our organization. The end user interface is intuitive and does not require much user training. The administration console offers full control over our organization. They provide .msi package installers to make installations easy for multiple users on a domain network. The MSI provides automatic updates to the ShareFile plugin. They offer an online interface as well as an outlook plugin. End users rarely have the need for the online interface as almost everything they need can be accomplished from the outlook plugin.

Functionality Issues with DriveMapper

I'd like to choose a 2.5, as it's not entirely dissatisfaction. But, there is one key issue that affects my work, and others in the office as well. Syncing is...unreliable. And freightening. The problem is that you save a file, and it conducts an actual save to the cloud in increments as opposed to immediately. So, your colleage looks 5 minutes later and the file is missing. Because of this we switched to the drive mapper feature, which only Citrix has at this time as far as we know. It has decent functionality and is impossible to differentiate from an on-premise storage solution/windows explorer experience. We love that. Hwoever, there is a huge issue with moving files from one folder to another. It either doesnt move, creates a duplicate, or much worse, and most frequently, crashes. Now any application running off of Sharefile has crashed too. I.e. I move an older version of a file to an Archive folder in Windows Explorer, and it crashes, and subsequently the excel spreadsheet I had open separately also crashes because its saved in the cloud on Sharefile.

Implementation and setup was straightforward, good starting point for small company.

Citrix has very responsive and helpful sales and engineering teams. Throughout the engagement they worked to help answer questions and provide solutions using the Citrix products being evaluated. They offered to provided training and assistance during the rollout period. Having them working with us along the way gave us confidence to move forward with deployment sooner. We've been very happy with the Enterprise File & Folder sync as well as the StorageZones file server connection.

Implementation and Functionality was good, but Licensing was painful during the POC

Communication was readily available, but they are strict on trial-period licensing. Great product, but you will have trouble if you're too busy to finish your POC before the 30-day trial period is up.
